Hot Topic: Delivering Disability Equality

28th February 2007, 00:00am - 00:01am, Central London Past event

The deadline for public authorities to publish a disability equality scheme has now passed. Public authorities must now implement their Disability Equality Schemes to promote disability equality within their organisation. The issue of undertaking disability equality impact assessments is one of the key activities which now needs to be addressed.

This event is designed to allow you to reflect on the work you have completed so far on your Disability Equality Scheme and will explore the issues relating to disability equality impact assessments and address some of the practical issues.

The event is being run by Forum Associate, and Director of Freeney Williams Ltd., Rick Williams. Rick has run a series of successful events on how to prepare Disability Equality Schemes with The Forum, leading up to the 4 December 2006 deadline. He has also been working with public authorities on their Disability Equality Schemes and the Disability Rights Commission, writing some of the guidance on the Duty. Contributions will also be made from the Disability Rights Commission.
