What about disability?

Failure to operate in line with the obligations of the DDA can be damaging, both financially and to a business' reputation. By adhering to best practice, small businesses will no doubt benefit. This guide demonstrates how well informed businesses can turn DDA duties into opportunities.
The term ‘disabled people' covers a wide range of very different individuals. Often it is not obvious who is disabled. Wheelchair users may be easier to spot, but they are fewer than 8% of the UK's disabled population.
You must make sure that everyone you employ or serve is treated equally and according to their needs - whether or not they, for example, are mobility impaired or deaf, or have a speech impairment, a mental health difficulty, arthritis or a learning disability.
