Broadcasting & Creative Industries Disability Network

What is the BCIDN?

The Broadcasting and Creative Industries Disability Network (BCIDN)brings together the UK's major broadcasters, film-makers and others inthe creative industries to explore and address disability as it relatesto the media industry.

The BCIDN makes it easier for members to recruit and retain disabledpeople and to promote and share best practice across the industry. TheBCIDN is also concerned with gaining more accurate representation ofpeople with disabilities in the media.

Founded by broadcasters in 1989, the BCIDN is part of the Employers'Forum on Disability (EFD), and all members of the BCIDN are members ofEFD.

BCIDN has a small group of associates - disabled people withconsiderable media experience, especially in broadcasting - who help both the BCIDN and the creative and broadcasting industrythrough their knowledge and understanding of both disability and theindustry.
