Welsh Network event
Location: Newport, Wales (Further details)
Sponsored by: UK Intellectual Property
UK Intellectual Property Office is an operating name of the Patent Office
Under the DDA, both public and private organisations are liable for the practices of their suppliers or contractors if they are found to discriminate against disabled employees or customers. In addition, public sector organisations implementing the Disability Equality Duty must ensure equality of opportunity for disabled people when contracting out services. As suppliers to the public sector, private sector organisations may be subject to the same requirements.
This Welsh Network event will provide practical guidance on how to minimise this risk and allow organisations to ensure that the suppliers and contractors they use are 'disability confident'. The event will be chaired by Rick Williams, EFD Associate and Director of Freeney Williams Ltd. and includes input from Catherine Casserley, Senior Legislation Adviser at the Disability Rights Commission and Graeme Whippy, Senior Manager IT Accessibility at Lloyds TSB Bank plc.
