Disability equality training

Workshop

Location: central London

Hosted by: Office of Fair Trading

This is information about a past event

At least one in three people in the UK is disabled or is close to someone who is, however, only 8% of disabled people use a wheelchair. Many disabilities, such as epilepsy, dyslexia and diabetes are hidden. You may even have a disabled team member or colleague and be unaware of it.

We will provide you with the opportunity to ask questions in a relaxed environment, exploring and dispelling some of the myths around disability.

We will also highlight the communication, etiquette and language barriers which may be experienced by disabled and non-disabled colleagues and customers.

This training will not daunt you with a long list of rights and wrongs but will develop your awareness as a better colleague, employee, manager and service provider.

The event is run by Rick Williams, director of disability consultancy Freeney Williams Ltd. Rick, an associate of EFD, is highly experienced in creating debate, challenging and inspiring delegates.
