This is information about a past event
How many disabled people are there in the UK? How can a simple adjustment such as an elastic band help a disabled person in the workplace? What access barriers might face businessman Richard Branson taking part in this event?…This event will reveal the answers!
Following on from our successful MegaQuiz event in Wakefield last year, we are pleased to be working in partnership with the Percy Hedley Foundation to deliver another 'quiz with a difference'. The event is taking place at Newcastle United Football Club and is an informal networking event for our members in the north east area. EFD members throughout the UK are also welcome to attend.
Working in teams made up of organisations from all over the region, you'll battle it out using game show buzzers, working through a number of different fun and interactive quiz rounds. No knowledge of disability is necessary – just lots of enthusiasm and a desire to improve your knowledge!
Your comperes for the evening are Phil Friend, director of Minty & Friend and David Barker, director of the Percy Hedley Foundation.
Why attend?
This event enables you to:
- Network with other organisations in the north east region
- Develop an understanding of the barriers that disabled people experience when accessing services and be aware of how these might be addressed
- Develop your knowledge about the facts of disability as opposed to the myths
- Learn more about how to employ people with disabilities in your organisation.
Who should attend?
This event is intended for our members in the north east region. Please forward this information on to your offices based in Newcastle and the surrounding area.
