Supporting line managers on disability

Conference

When: Wednesday 19 March 2008, 10am – 4pm

Hosted by: Merrill Lynch

This is information about a past event

One in eight of the working population has a disability – that's 3.4 million people. How many of your line managers are disability confident?

The results of last year's Employers' Forum on Disability Standard Benchmark Survey show that less than half of participating organisations have disability specific performance indicators for line managers. However, our experience shows that if you engage your line managers on disability it benefits the whole business.

The 'Supporting line managers on disability' conference will bring together HR and line managers to share best practice on treating disabled people fairly. Looking at the barriers to both good line management as well as good HR practices, it will focus on what's getting in the way and find practical solutions for both. Delegates will explore approaches to issues such as managing attendance management, appraisal processes and redeployment.
