How to get your money at the Post Office
The Post Office has developed a range of banking services available at all Post Office branches that enable customers to get their cash from their branch free of charge. As many customers will not previously have used banking services, the Post Office commissioned the Employer's Forum on Disability to produce 'How to get your money as the Post Office'. This leaflet provides vital guidance on how all customers, including disabled people, older people, people with basic learning skills and those who are uneasy with complex documents can do their banking and get cash at Post Office branches.
Paying your bills
'Paying your bills' is a user-friendly guide designed to help people with a learning disability avoid debt. The booklet presents the basics of paying bills and managing the money to do so. It includes information on the different types of bill and the various means to pay them, as well as a simple to use glossary of useful words and step-by-step advice on what to do if you can't pay your bill.
The guide will not only make it easier for people with a learning disability to understand and pay their bills, but its easy-to-read format will also be of use to a far wider audience including people whose first language isn't English, people with eyesight problems and young people paying bills for the first time, helping to make British Gas accessible for all its customers.
