Disability management tool launched in London
The Employers' Forum Disability Standard 2007 has been launched in London, at an event hosted by the Financial Times.
Around 100 members of the Employers' Forum on Disability were in attendance to mark the official launch of this unique benchmarking tool, which assesses business performance on disability.
Speakers included Nev Wilkinson, Managing Partner of executive recruitment consultancy Rockpools, Ben Hughes, Worldwide Advertising Director at the FT and Phil Friend OBE, Director of disability training consultancy Churchill, Minty and Friend.
Nev Wilkinson said:

Phil Friend said:
“The Disability Standard shows how far business has come from the days when we had to cajole employers into showing an interest in disability.
The Standard is crucial to help employers and service providers know where they are and what they need to do to improve.”
The Disability Standard first took place in 2005, with 80 participants. This number is expected to be at least double when the results of the second Disability Standard are announced in autumn 2007.

The eight week benchmarking exercise takes place between the end of February until the end of April 2007. Participants will receive a detailed, diagnostic report on their performance, benchmarked against other participants.
Full benchmark results will be published in Autumn 2007.
