NHS Employers have become core funders of the Employers' Forum on Disability, joining as Gold Card members.

The employers' organisation for the National Health Service in England becomes the 43rd Gold Card member of the Forum and one of 395 members.

The Employers' Forum on Disability is the employers' organisation focused on the issue of disability in the workplace and is widely recognised as the authoritative voice on disability as it affects employers and service providers.

By becoming a Gold Card member of the Forum, NHS Employers joins an exclusive group of core funders, whose support is fundamental to the Employers' Forum building its capacity to make it easier to employ disabled people, serve disabled customers and value disabled people as stakeholders.

Steve Barnett, Director of NHS Employers said:

“We are delighted to join the Employers' Forum on Disability on behalf of employers in the NHS.

“Our membership of the forum will give us access to world-class leaders in disability whose expertise will be invaluable to the NHS.

“We will work in partnership with the Forum to ensure that we can help employers to better support their members of staff with disabilities and to create more and better opportunities for people with a disability to come to work in the NHS.”

Susan Scott-Parker, chief executive of the Employers' Forum on Disability said:

“We're extremely pleased that NHS Employers have chosen to join the Forum as Gold Card members.

“I hope to see other employers' organisations follow their lead by becoming core funders – and demonstrating their commitment to becoming disability confident in their own right, while to helping their membership to realise the potential of disabled people as employees, customers, service users and valued stakeholders.”
